My First Blog Post
I have bought this domain in October, and here I am posting in Febuary, at last!
This made me decide to throw myself in the blogging community.
For starters, here's a little background on me.
I have been working as a developer for @InsumSolutions for 5 years now. Unique in the world, Insum is a Center of Excellence specialized in Oracle, especially with the APEX technology. Check them out if you don't know them!
Over the past years, I have shown interest in pushing my APEX skills outside of the scope of a standard application development. However, I have done it in silence since then.
I particularly like new and modern technologies, that are either time-saving or efficient for developers.
I am also still a part-time student at UQAM University in Montreal, which besides consuming my personal dev-time, is useful for opening my mind to all sorts of technologies (Shoutout to @jacquesberger who has been an incredible professor in many classes).
Outside of my geek nature, I'm a huge off-grid living enthusiast. I own a cabin somewhere in the North of Quebec, where no electricity or cellular signal can reach. It's pretty disorienting, especially for someone who makes a living out of computers, but it's awesome and I love it.
So here's a rundown of my latest day-to-day interests:
- APEX 5 (still in early adopter)
- Oracle Database
- SQL
- PL/SQL
- Web
- HTML5
- CSS3
- JavaScript
- jQuery
- AJAX
- WebSockets
- JSON
- REST
- Design
- Responsive Web Design
- Bootstrap
- Foundation
- Material Design
- Other
- Node.js
- Gulp
- Sass
- Three.js
The ones in bold are those that caught most of my attention lately and this is what I intend to write about in the next couple of weeks / months.
Finally, I will be presenting my very first public session for ODTUG APEXPosed on May 6th and I'm very excited for it :)
